FOUNDING PARTNER
Karan Gerald Kremer
Karan Gerald Kremer is a founding partner of Epicore IM, based between London and Düsseldorf. At Mellum Capital (f.k.a. Brookfield Financial) in London, he was primarily responsible for the German and Dutch markets, specializing in large-scale restructurings. Since 2019, he has successfully completed over €5B in restructurings and financings.
Prior to this, he worked at a family office in Düsseldorf, managing sector-agnostic value-add and opportunistic transactions across North Rhine-Westphalia. He began his career in the Corporate Finance team at Savills Capital Advisory in London, where he focused on equity underwriting.
Since its founding, Epicore IM has executed transactions and developments totaling over €200 million in assets. The firm initially operated as a balance sheet investor, with ticket sizes of up to €25M, before evolving into a full-service operating partner model that combines the financial expertise of a large investment manager with the market insight of a “local hero”.
Karan holds an MSc in Real Estate, Economics and Finance (Hons.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BEng (Hons.) in Biochemical Engineering from University College London (UCL).
FOUNDING PARTNER
Andreas Bahners
Founding partner of the Bahners & Schmitz Group, based in Düsseldorf. With over 25 years
of institutional real estate finance and investment experience, he is a seasoned expert across
asset classes and risk profiles, holding a significant share of opportunistic transactions in his home market Düsseldorf.
At Landesbank Berlin / Berlin Hyp, he held senior management roles in Berlin and Munich, ultimately serving as Group Division Head overseeing real estate financing and the syndication business in Germany. During this period, he successfully completed over €14.5B in financings and restructurings. Earlier in his career, he trained as an apprentice and trainee at Landesbank Berlin AG (LBB), specializing in real estate finance for the German market.
Since founding B&S in 2014, Andreas has been responsible for transactions and developments totaling over €650M in assets, with more than 80% focused on Düsseldorf, acting as either sole investor or joint-venture partner. Recent asset and development management mandates include the “Ben & Mara” project in Düsseldorf, converting a large commercial site into approximately 59,000 sqm of residential-led mixed-use space.
Andreas holds a degree in Business Administration & Economics from the University of Hagen.


EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Uåsa Katharina Maisch
Uåsa Katharina Maisch is part of the executive management team at Epicore IM and brings more than 20 years of experience in the real estate sector as a restructuring lawyer and project developer.
Before joining Epicore IM, she spent several years at Bahners & Schmitz GmbH, where she was involved in complex development projects and maintained close relations with regional authorities and municipalities across North Rhine-Westphalia.
As Chairwoman of the Regional Committee for Construction, Real Estate, and Urban Development of the Economic Council of North Rhine-Westphalia, she plays a leading role in shaping policy dialogue and strategic initiatives in the built environment.Throughout her career, she has been responsible for large-scale development and construction projects, combining legal expertise with strategic and operational experience in the real estate industry.
She studied law at the University of Marburg and completed her legal traineeship in Düsseldorf, earning both state examinations. She later obtained a Master’s degree in Real Estate Law from the University of Münster, complemented by academic experience in Australia and at the United Nations in Geneva.
